Scott and Shaundra had an absolutely gorgeous wedding! The ceremony was beautiful, the wedding party had a blast all day long, and the reception was full of amazing food and crazy dancing! But it took one calm bride and groom to make it happen! It rained on and off all day long (mostly during the time we had scheduled to take the majority of the portraits!), there was a tornado warning about an hour before the ceremony began, and all of the electricity in the church refused to stay on. But somehow Scott and Shaundra both managed to be as cool about it as they could have possibly been. We just grabbed our umbrella and took some portraits of them safely under coverings, took advantage of the brief moments where the rain stopped, and used the gorgeous natural light in the church to capture their ceremony! At the end of the day, despite all of the insanity, they were happily husband and wife :) And we personally think the cloudy, rainy day made for some beautiful images!
This one of a kind wedding day perfectly captured Scott and Shaundra’s personalities. Their sense of humor allowed them to go with the flow and and make light of the myriad of problems all around them. They’re just such a relaxed couple and it made what could have been a stressful day one filled with tons of jokes and laughter. We think that’s a pretty good quality to have :)
During the reception, Shaundra’s grandparents (who had been married for almost 60 years!) were given the chance to give some advice to the newlyweds. Her grandmother said it needed to be a good balance of give and take, and mainly that you need to keep God first, and everything else will work out. We couldn’t agree more :) We pray that you two do exactly that! We love you guys!
